Reading

I just realized that I have finished three books in the last 26 hours. And I have managed to look for multiple jobs, worked on Advice Gals, gotten a hair cut, and gotten the oil changed on my car.

Did I mention that unemployment has its benefits?

And P.S., I am totally starting the new Sophie Kinsella book. As soon as I finish writing this. Which I will undoubtedly enjoy, by the way.

50 Word Review: Bitter is the New Black

The Book:

Bitter is the New Black: Confessions of a condescending, egomaniacal, self-centered Smart-ass, or why you should never carry a Prada Bag to the unemployment office

By Jen Lancaster

The 50 Word Review:

This book is fantastic, and not just because it contains the line "HATE! Dave Matthews makes me want to kick puppies," although that would be good enough reason to love it. Even if I totally disagree with a certain author's view of Bryan Adams.

50 Word Review: I'm A Stranger Here Myself

The Book:

I'm a Stranger Here Myself: Notes on Returning to America After Twenty Years Away

By Bill Bryson

The 50 Word Review:

Bill Bryson writes two kinds of books: (1) those that are actually funny; and (2) those that are really, really trying to be funny, make you smile a few times, and are not an entire waste of time . This one falls in the latter category

50 Word Review: Charlatan

The Book

Charlatan: America's Most Dangerous Huckster, the Man Who Pursued Him, and the Age of Flimflam

By Pope Brock

The 50 Word Review

The most interesting (and only) book I have ever read about goat testicles. That is supposed to be a compliment. I think.

The New Website

This is the new website that I am starting.

Basically, Advice Gals is a website where anyone can ask a question and receive an answer from a real woman, for a small fee. The responses are personalized, and they are always kept private.

If you have a chance, please check it out. I appreciate any thoughts on the new site - it is live right now, but I have not submitted it to any search engines or done anything to promote it yet (that's the plan for tomorrow and over the weekend).

First!

My dog, Sundance, reincarnated as a Patriots fan. That's right, high quality for my first post.
